First workshop done and dusted

The first pattern making workshop ended last week. To finish off we made and stitched up A-line skirts with shaped waistbands as well as paneled skirts. I felt so inspired by their work that I made myself two skirts using some great shwe shwe fabric I bought in Durban last year over Christmas. Anyone wanting to attend a workshop see the dates below for weekday or Saturday workshops.

Techno idiot

Hi. To everyone who sent me queries regarding my first workshop, through my blog, and didn’t get a response. I really thought I had responded, but being a techno idiot I sent emails off into the ‘abyss’. How embarrassing! xxx Belinda

Pattern Making Workshop session 2

We have completed the first two days of the skirt pattern making workshop.

Very exciting to see the progress made. The students proudly finished sewing up their skirts with facings and a zip using the pattern they drafted themselves.

Next week we will cover how to adjust their standard straight skirt to different styles and silhouettes as well as starting skirt patterns for their own size.

Soon I'll have the smartest skirted students in town.
